Why I do what I do...

I just delivered the set of portraits yesterday.. and I was so nervous!  But as soon as the grandmother saw them, my nervous feelings turned to joyful feelings!  She loved them so much she had tears in her eyes!  Thank goodness.. I guess I am still so new at this and I find myself so vulnerable when I put my work out there to be judged.  But that is definitely something that will have to change since I want to pursue this as my career.  And I have been told that is will get easier as I go.  I'm so excited for what is ahead of me.  I have two commissions that I am starting soon.  One is of a mother and her two daughters on kindergarten graduation day, and the other an amazing scene of deer that my client got a picture of while on a trip with her husband.  Both are special memories, and they are entrusting me to paint these memories that will be treasured forever..  I love that I get to be a part of it, and that is why I do what I do.

  1. Go, Jen, go!! It will get easier. It sounds like you are off on a great start. I'm happy for you!

  2. Thank you so much Kathryn! I love the support! It is a fun but long road to get this going, but well worth being patient.. Thanks for the encouragement!
