Village Reflections

Although this is definitely not one of my favorite paintings that I've created, I can say that I truly enjoyed painting this scene.  I find it so much harder to paint something from imagination.  I usually use a photograph that I have taken or something that I have seen before.  I love using a variety of bright colors and keeping some white in the painting.  Hope you enjoy..

Kyndra Layne's Finished Portrait

Kyndra's portrait is finished and has been delivered to the family.  Wow was that ever emotional, but also very rewarding.  It was so amazing to see how the whole family came together to be there for Anna.  I definitely have the most amazing and most loving family, and I am so grateful. I gave my In-laws a print of her portrait, and I will later post how to get one for the other relatives.  Thanks for supporting us through this journey.

Kyndra's Portrait

I am so excited for this coming week!  My family and I are headed to Montana for Thanksgiving.  It is always a warm, fun, and exciting time with ten grandchildren running around.  My two girls have a blast!  Good food, great company..  After Thanksgiving we will be heading further north to deliver Kyndra's portrait to Anna.  She isn't expecting us, so I'm a little nervous about it.  She has been so strong for her two little girls, and she just amazes me.  I am always praying that God will give her the strength and the courage to get through each day and to have peace knowing that her sweet baby girl is an angel in heaven now.  I finished her portrait a couple days ago and I ran it straight to the printers so I will have prints of the portrait for all of Kyndra's relatives.  I will post her final portrait on Tuesday when I pick it up!!

Kyndra Layne

I am still working on this portrait and will post the final in the next couple of days.  I started this portrait today of my seven year old niece Kyndra.  There is a lot of emotion behind this painting.  Just a few months ago we lost Kyndra in an accident.  We miss her dearly and we will always remember her big smile and her beautiful blue eyes.  Our memories with her will always be treasured in our hearts.

Santa Baby

I truly enjoyed painting Santa Claus..  He is just so warm and fuzzy, and can put a smile on every face.  I have prints available of this painting.  Something new that I am starting and I am very excited about is having the option to make certain prints into greeting cards.  Perfect for the holidays, or just a casual "thinking of you" note.  Greeting Cards come in a package of eight, with eight white envelopes.  The inside is blank for you to write your own personal message.  ' Santa Baby ' greeting cards are available at this time.

Wintry Birch

I am really loving how this painting is turning out.  It's my first time really doing detailed trees and its a process that turns out to surprise you!  When I'm in the moment and looking at the paper with out taking a break, I just don't see the details that are forming.  So it's really amazing to put the paint brush down and step away for a bit and then come back with a fresh set of eyes.  This makes for a great winter scape...

Three Leaves

This is my first time experimenting with leaves.. and definitely not my last.  I do like how this turned out, however I am excited to do the next one with a more wet on wet look.  That is one of my favorite things about using watercolor.  It is so sporadic and takes control of the painting all on its own.  I'm really looking forward to the next one.  Maybe I will just use oranges and yellows in the next painting..
